Announcement regarding US Department of Commerce Tariffs

To Our Valued Customers:

On September 17th, 2018, the US Department of Commerce announced a series of tariffs on over $200 billion of products manufactured in or sourced from China. On September 24, 2018, these products, which include flooring, will be subject to a 10% tariff. Then, on January 1, 2019, the tariff rate will increase to 25%. Some of the products that we distribute will be directly affected.

Tariffs have an immediate effect on all new orders, as well as back orders and existing job quotes. Please plan on seeing instantaneous price increases on any orders placed for these products starting Monday, September 24th, 2018.

Many of our customers have open orders that were placed before September 24th with material already allocated. In those cases, we will honor the original pricing as long as the orders are shipped out by October 12, 2018.

Additionally, we have already been notified by some of our suppliers of non-tariff, general price increases, and we’ve been told expect more over the coming months. We will notify you of these as they occur.

We sincerely regret that the immediate nature of a tariff does not allow us to provide you more notice on specific pricing changes, but the timing is being controlled by the Commerce Department and forces us to move very quickly. We are working diligently to compute and distribute updated price lists, however, with this short time frame, we ask that you please confirm your material costs with our Customer Care Team at the time you place new orders.

As always, thank you for being a valued customer, and we appreciate your continuing partnership with All Tile and your ongoing business.
